View across the dam at Vredenheim

Vredenheim boasts with one of the most stunning gardens around. The lawn is always immaculately trimmed and there are many nooks and crannies where you are able to spread your blanket and enjoy your picnic basket. Please note no private picnics or own refreshments are allowed. Picnics can be ordered from Hudson’s Restaurant and if picnicking is not your thing, one could also enjoy lunch here at Hudson’s with some great views over the gardens and the mountains in the distance.

Another option is to order a bottle of wine or grape juice from the wine tasting area and find a quiet spot somewhere in the garden and enjoy the peace and tranquility. If it is wine that you like, we can recommend the Shiraz, and it is very reasonably priced.
Vredenheim is most probably most well known for its big cat park where one can see white and brown lions, cheetah, leopard, lynx and tiger. Guided tours are available at certain times throughout the year.
