I cannot imagine any chili lover not complementing you on this starter. The combination of the smoky flavour of the bacon, with the mild bite of the chili and the sharp tang of the cheese will ensure a taste explosion. As you can imagine, 10 of these delicious bites will not nearly be enough. So rather make as many as you can.These Jalapeno chilies are not always easy to find, but try Fruit and Veg.
10 large chillies
10 – 14 rashers bacon
+- 2⁄3 cup grated cheese (I used mature cheddar)
Slice approximately a third of the chilli down the length. Remove the seeds with tea spoon. Stuff the chili with the grated cheese. Wrap with on or two pieces of bacon, depending on the size of your chilli. I made these on the weber, but one should quite easily be able to do them on the braai, if they are wrapped well. (Not like the chillies in the picture.) Serve as soon as you remove it from the heat. Enjoy.
