8pcs braai lamb chops
2 onions –chopped
3tbs mixed chopped herbs (thyme, rosemary, parsley, oregano)
Olive oil for frying meat and onions
3 large carrots, chopped
1⁄2 large butternut –chopped big
1⁄4 of a bottle of red wine
1 – 2 heads of broccoli
2 tins of chopped tomato
2 handfuls of baby potatoes
250g brown mushrooms
Black pepper and salt to taste
Heat the pot with some olive oil in it and fry the onions until translucent. Remove the onions and brown the meat, add salt and pepper to taste.
Return the onions to the pot and add the potatoes, carrots, cans of chopped tomato,butternut, mixed herbs and wine.
Turn down the heat and let the pot simmer slowly.
Cook for at least an hour, preferably two, depending on the heat.
Half an hour before serving, add the broccoli and mushrooms.
Serve with rice.
