Braaibrood (bread toasted on the fire)
2 Slices of bread
Enough cheese to cover a slice of bread
2 – 3 thinly sliced pieces tomato
2 thinly sliced pieces of onion
garlic to taste
sprinkling of oreganum
Spread the garlic evenly on one of the slices of bread. On top of this place the cheese. Sprinkle the dried oreganum on the cheese. On top of this put the onions and tomato. Cover with the other slice of bread.
Braai slowly over “cool” coals,(but not to cool, as this will dry the bread out) until golden brown. Depending on the heat of the coals, turn regularly.
