de Drinken, Moreesburg

canoeing at de Drinken

Situated approximately 20 km outside Moreesburg, this is one of those “book the whole campsite” campsites. This is not at all bad specially if you are a group of friends that enjoys camping and the outdoors.

This place allows you to either party or relax, as there is no one else around to bother you.

There are also pitched tents on wooden platforms further down the river for those that like a bit more convenience. These tents overlook the river and are very private and perfect for a romantic getaway.

Activities include bird watching, canoeing, swimming, hiking and mountain biking (although I would not recommend it as there are plenty devils thorns.
